Pros & Cons
Pros
It is lightweight enough and easy to strap to the side of my bag. Fits in my backpack without any hassle. The strap that keeps the umbrella closed is large and sturdy and works well.
Nice, but not earth-shatteringly-so considering the price. This one is different and is definitely a keeper. This british-made unbrella is far better than what i see in the us marketplace.
Curse their seductively classy zinc/leather handles. Sixteen fiberglass-reinforced ribs and a fiberglass shaft fitted to a solid oak handle.
Cons
That’s what i call a scam. Bad design" "on revision i now see most of the reviews more often related to the umbrella's looks rather than the function or performance.
The diameter of the cupola is too small when opened - even for one person. It's all mute anyway, mine's on it's way to the landfill.
The venting is there, but the ribs seem unable to withstand the high winds (~35 mph) it looks like the seams where the arms are on mine aren't sealed well, so many of the seams started to leak. Snapped backwards and broke a metal arm in the wind.
Highlights
Quality
You feel the quality from handle to spokes
Really nice quality umbrella easy to use good size
Daughter and wife both had umbrella malfunctions with the usual folded steel things sold at the drug store counter
All showed signs of poor construction and no quality control
Price
Nice but not earthshatteringlyso considering the price
Packaging/appearance
Took the deep dive on quality umbrellas and was immediately bewitched by the ad copy on the davek site
Bought a repel and it is every bit the davek solo albeit with a pedestrian rubber handle
Competitiveness
More balios umbrella models and colors on amazon please
It’s well worth the higher price because it will last longer
Then i looked at the standardsize folding davek solo

There is a carrying strap but its attached to the sleeve

It would have been much better to have the strap attached to the umbrella itself so it can be carried around everywhere

I was hoping that it was made in england
