Pros
S books are a learning experience as well as filled with excitement and intrigue. Great ending too. That cherokee is as much a character as he is. But this latest one has the same tone as pre-rene *.
Can't get enough * & ballard. This one is no different, a real winner. Everyone counts or nobody counts!
And ballard are back with the lapd looking at long unsolved * cases. In this installment, ballard has been appointed head of the newly reconstituted open/unsolved (aka cold case) unit. The unit is under the political thumb of a city councilman.
The audiobook is the best i’ve ever listened to. Great read, page turner. Very worth my time.
Cons
Connelly expresses some really irritating stereotyping and political biases throughout the book. Many of the police personnel in the story are stereotypically portrayed as either racist, mysoginistic, or otherwise morally flawed neanderthals.

Maybe he can either resuscitate bosch or maybe he can insert other bosch novels that fit in time with the long list of current versions
