Pros

My personal likes and dislikes. I'm really good at making myself feel guilty about buying luxury items for myself. It is perfect for someone with a lot of gear!

A really nice feature is the heos button that gives me access to all my online music sources & tuner channels using one button operation. The remote and setup was easy and the unit easily communicates with my smart tv.

At 60 volume levels (max is 95), the denon runs pretty hot. It runs a little hot if driven medium too hard for prolonged times, but not a deal breaker.

Cons

This receiver has no soundstage no present no upper midrange or treble. Wifi and anything bluetooth was nixed. I expect a receiver to have a knob for radio tuning. Hdmi passes through but not sound.

Don't be fooled. This failure on denon's part is unacceptable!

After reading many reviews i was a little hesitant but this units specifications were impressive and the cost was reasonable

I bought another even though the bass is nonexistent as the price was 150

In early 1990s terms heos is the wordstar of music management and sonos is word 2

Packaging/appearance

I got around the heos and bluetooth limitations by purchasing an xduoo 10tii digital transport player which i dedicate to the dra800h

Competitiveness

It is connected to a 4k tv an xbox one s a bluray player and a cd player

In my living room i wanted a single hmdi wire to my tv and need only a two channel sub setup
