Pros
The base of the kettle is 8 in diameter and is composed of a thicker 6 diameter section. The only potential problem with this kettle is the seam on the bottom, but it appears to be a rolled seam rather than a weld.
Great product, performs exactly as i expected it to. Very heavy, well made. Magnificent workmanship. It's that good.
Whistle is not annoying. It heats quickly and the whistle is appropriately loud. The handle heats up so you will need a towel or mitt when you take the whistle off and pour your hot water.
Cons
The tea kettle is attractive, but not so functional. It's very painful to pour water into kettle and pour water out. The water is not safe to drink after 7 boils and handwashing.

Maybe i am superman and have a greater tolerance for pain than most of the commenters here but honestly the handle does not get hot

The only thing that gets hot is the whistle but if you take it off as soon as the kettle starts whistling then you dont need gloves or a pot holder
