Pros & Cons

Pros

The bottom consists of a thick layering of metals and the sides are thinner stainless steel. I also like and use the atlantis conical sauce/saute pans as well. The one reservation some have is its weight.

Demeyere cookware is excellent. We use this daily to cook steel cut oats and it works great for rice or quinoa as well. The pot heats amazingly well.

No rivet design is beautiful and makes cleaning easier. Steams veggies and potatoes quickly and with little effort. the demeyere is a little bit harder. I use bar keeper's friend if there any gunk that's harder to remove.

The pans heat up quickly, disperse heat evenly & retain warmth. This heats evenly and quickly. It does what a straight saucepan is supposed to do - heats quickly and evenly from the bottom, stays hot, and cleans up just fine.

heat transfer, beautiful finish, handle stays cool, very easy clean up. The handle stays reasonably cool as advertised. The only downside is they are a bit on the the heavy side and i worry a little about denting the lip.

Cons

Do yourself a huge favor and leave this cookware to the professionals. The hype over demeyere being professional cookware is just that.

Quality

The lid fits tightly and is also of very good quality

That said it is extremely well made with a very thick bottom which spreads the heat totally evenly

Unfortunately the handles are too thin and dont give good enough leverage to rotate the pan when theres anything inside

It heats rapidly and with very little liquid for the small quantities of food to be cooked

Competitiveness

I believe that demeyere is the best cookware available

A bonus is that the steamer and glass lids from the cuisinart also fit perfectly on the demeyer

For better or for worse some of the great cooking qualities are inextricably tied to weight

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Personally the weight does not bother me i do not usually even notice it what i do notice are things like the even heating and how easy it is to clean

Negatives 200 for a onequart saucepan is remarkable

Also the diameter is very skimpy meaning it is sometimes hard to contain the contents without a little spilling the lid looks almost like a toy

Im guessing it will be good for small batch candymaking too

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It is easy to pour liquids from it then handle does not get one bit hot and is egonomic and the lid fits so snugly
