Pros & Cons

Pros

Miter box is great for cutting small pieces of wood. I get better cuts when using it than not - though am pretty bad at sawing freehand. No cord needed.

The miter is some sort of bare hardened copper (copper color, not yellow like in the image) but quiet resilient and hard to scratch up, and very precise. The blade on the saw that comes with the miter fits perfectly though with no wiggle room.

Cons

This box only provides *one* slot for 45 deg cuts instead of one each for right and left cuts. Works fine for the first few cuts then the cuts get harder and harder. Apparently the blade is dull already. Would have cost them 25 cents in mfg time to ma...  Read More

With the included pullsaw you just let the saw do the work with very light pressure on it and it cuts accurate miters safely

Price

Made in the usa is a big plus and is at a good price point

Shipping

Well made use for model building mostly ships

Competitiveness

A great specialty saw for the price

I would not recommend this for wood thicker than 1234 or wider than 134 use a fullsize miter box

It’s safer than trying to make small fine cuts on a tablesaw or power miter saw

More carefully made than the xacto unit

Wish it had measurements on it but it was by just the thing for 14” molding

You cant do with a power miter saw what you can with this one when it comes to small parts

Here are a few important things to remembergt some blades that have offset teeth might not fit through the miter and you dont want to widen the slits or you will loose precision
