It's the same material they use on their replacement headband. The only downside is that it might get a little sweaty if you use them nonstop for 8 hours straight with the ac off. Overall i recommend these much more than the elite series pads.

I originally got the elite series leather pads but found them to be way too stiff to create any kind of seal and they made the sound stage narrow and the bass was quieter and boomy

These choice leather pads on the other hand are the complete opposite

The sound stage seems to be about the same or better than the stock pads but my stock pads were pretty shot having used them for 3

As a seasoned keyboardistproducer im extremely picky about how my speakerheadphones sound and i have to say that when i first put on my dt 1990s with the balanced pads i was quite disappointed

I forgot that headphones of this caliber need a break in34 period regardless there was a quite noticeable peak in the lower midrange around 300400hz that clouded the sound in a way that pretty much destroyed the intended fidelity of these headphones at least to my ears

Switching to the analytical pads was much better finally a 34natural34 more accurate sound in the midrange however the sub bass or lack of it definitely left more to be desired

At first i tried the elite hybrids after reading a bunch of reviews praising the improvement in the low end however i was dismayed to find that they skewed the entire balance too much to the bassyer side mudding up the lower midrange as well as taking away the clarity and presence of the top end that gave the dt 1990 its sound in the first place

From the graph and description on the dekoni website i thought that these werent going to make much of a difference being advertised as sounding basically a lot like the balanced pads which i didnt like
