This helps you position yourself at ideal depth 1 ft too high and fish wont see or smell your bait

The beautifull thing about this sonar is that you see the fish that hog the bottom come up 1 ft 2ft to see your bait if it dosnt like it you see it go back down

Battery doesnt last too long in cold for ice fishing

Had the deeper out 3 times been pretty good until last time i had it out battery at 75 and the sonar signal seemed to come and go it would show my hook jigging ice fishing and it would gradually disappear the come back

Just be careful not to drop it in the water from high above just gently place it in the water as it can bob down beneath the ice if the ice depth is not very deep
