The material is awesome because it wipes off easily. The stitching looks to be quality and well done. Have not tested water proof to avail for it, but overall great backpack.

The strap is a bit of a gold color, with some reflective quality in it. My son likes the bag enough that we chose to keep it and just cut the strap off so it wouldn't swing loosely. The shoulder strap is wide and very comfortable.

It's large enough to be nice for a hike, bike ride or other similar activity. It fits any of your small size daily needs.

The velcro that is. Cool for any teenage and for older people too. When worn it stays in place.

The buckle mechanism always gets stuck open once unbuckled. The strap adjuster slides too easily so the strap has to be constantly readjusted. The buckle is finicky.
