Original there is a circular relief cut right at the inside corners that causes the frame to not to hold 45degree angled cuts in alignment

One of the boards at the corner slips into the relief and the other then cannot

I cut four pieces of very thin cutting board mat and folded them into the corners to block the relief that worked ok

I first tried dry fit and decided that bare aluminium corners arent quite delicate to wooden surface if use not a hard wood species
