When the audio video cable works great the hdmi lose the sound anytime i start a new movie or restart what i am playing

To fix that i have to unplug it and plug it again the hdmi cable so that the sound comes up and works

I have mine sitting on a shelf about 5 feet off the ground and the picture is slightly trapezoidal
