Pros

I would dare say, this is best tripod i've ever used. Would highly recommend. It's perfectly adequate for most applications.

The tripod itself is very sturdy. Nothing flimsy about it.

The fm18 head is very smooth, both when panning and tilting. The side-to-side pans are great! Only problem is the vertical pan is very stiff. I hope it will loosen up after a while for a effortlesspanning and titling.

Comes with 2 sleds for the head, which is nice as i will often have more than one camera. The knob that tightens the sled in place is a little difficult to get to at times. I wish the mounting screw had a flip key to tighten, this one has just a slott... Read More

Bag is heavy and protects well. The tripod bag is padded and really nice. The carrying case is also high quality, with padding built in around the head.

Cons

The camera lock down is a huge hassle to use with my camera. Three small allen screws need constant tightening to take up free play in the tilt direction. The tilt tension control is in the way of the body of the camera (i use a canon xha1).

The superior design attributes of the tripod were lost in the cheap ancillary components used. This is product is a lemon. This items *.

Its a great tripod for the price

This tripod is exceptional and was extremely affordable

For the price point you are definitely getting your moneys worth and more

For the money it is very hard to best

Shipper did great with packaging and it was delivered fast

Bad it came a little beat up from the shipper

It did take me about a month in a half to get this tripod which was disappointing but i am extremely happy with this tripod so far

I did a lot of research looking at tripods in this price range and i definitely choose the right one

I looked at a lot of different tripods both online and offline at retail and i will say that this unit has exceeded my expectations

I say in summary the davis sanford 7518 fm18 is the best midrange closer to uppperrange tripod on the market today

While im not a professional photographer i know one who has the fm18 and we were able to do a sidebyside comparison
