This means the display is deactivated under windows (but still working - a windows error) you have to ensure you get the right driver installed. The fix is simply to let it warm up, either by holding it or just placing over the monitor.
Easy to install & use. Quick and easy to use. Much quicker in performing re-calibrations each month. Great for professional photographers and videographers.
Cons
Yet another apple fanboy company. Running on an i9-9900k win 10 desktop and kept getting kernel errors when the calibration was running (whatever a kernel error is? Will never go back to data colour and will certainly not recommend them to anyone.
Returned to amazon for refund. Won't be bothering with datacolor again. Terrible, environmentally lousy and just poor customer service.
Calibration of the spyder4 pro vs spyderx pro is negligible. I suppose that it will make a good doorstop. Avoid this garbage like the plague would be my advice.

If you just need your computer for everyday use you may not notice the difference so save your money
Im only likely to use the device occasionally but i think it was money well spent to be sure on the monitor output

There is one small issue ive found with the product if your room is cold then the device gets too cold to work the software reports an error the fix is simply to let it warm up either by holding it or just placing over the monitor for a few mins

For those who want a more detailed and accurate calibration you can use the displaycal software with this device which is more feature rich than the software it comes with

It can be used with spyderx software but i’d recommend using displaycal instead

Displaycal it’s much more flexible and more complex which gives you more control
