The main focus in this book is on improving education in america and although the authors are too polite to a fault to point it out our school factories on both the k12 and college levels have for many years even decades been graduating students who can barely read write or handle simple math let alone think critically

Thus what i most appreciated in this book in addition to the personal dark horse anecdotes were the authors advertisements for several promising experimental approaches to education that make end arounds the dismal and ineffective american k12 schools of today and another that bypasses the college scam and gouge
