Pros & Cons
Pros
There is a slight (what appears to be) lamination line near the bolster that looks a little cheap as well but is simply cosmetic. Balance is nice, right at the bolster. One thing to note about this knife is the sharpness. The steal used is japanese a1... Read More
The handle is ergonomic for my grip. The transition of handle to bolster to blade is fantastic for pinch gripping. It's a full tang so it was very sturdy and the weight felt good in my hand.
Cons
Very dissatisfied. It is extraordinarily cumbersome and costly to have a knife repaired or replaced. Is this the reason it broke?
It's very difficult to believe this is damascus steel for two reasons. The blade has an almost rough sand blasted texture and no real detail as pictured.
Blade is quite thin, feels cheap. Handle is very slick and thick that gripping this knife is impossible. Square, uncomfortable handle.
Highlights
Quality
This is by far my favorite knife although its price point is very mid level its quality is upper level as far as im concerned
Its amazing quality easy to hold and maneuver
However my knife cover didn’t last too long and i’m not surprised
The box was smashed so i was pretty disappointed
Price
But at its current price i do feel its over priced and a bit of a ripoff
If they cut the price about 4050 id feel they would have a real winner
Packaging/appearance
It holds its edge well came very sharp out of the box feels good looks good
But you are definitely paying a premium for the marketing and packaging
I realized when i switched to the 34white34 handle version i bought a damaged packaging version
Ill start off by saying the packaging is a nice touch
Competitiveness
I guarantee you will be forever grateful you purchased a dalstrong
I used this knife for years at home and as a prep chef professionally
If you rock holding the full handle youre better off with a wusthof
I have a dalstrong slicing knife and i dont think it is very sharp and not impressed but i read all the reviews on this knife a... Read More
