Pros
Drop in replacement for the rotary encoder on an ender 3. If the control knob on your ender 3 goes kaput, this is exactly what you need to fix it. All ender printers with the 360 knob develop the famous lockup.
I attach pictures of my setup and screen shots of my logic analyzer. It works by rotating three detents clockwise or counterclockwise. The pins line up perfectly and it fits nicely within the case.

My biggest gripe about these encoders is that the shaft play is a little excessive

If you use the knob that came with the unit its not that noticeable but i often replace other encoders and put the factory knob back on them and with a bigger knob you definitely notice it

The pinouts were fairly obvious but the relationship between the rotary detents 20 detents per rotation and the two quadrature outputs wasnt clear to me

It tuned out that both encoder outputs call them a and b are always high open circuit with pullup when the knob is resting in any detent position
