The light charges via a micro usb port on the back of the device, a bit of a nuisance but not a big deal. My only gripe with this light, is that it takes hours upon hours to charge.

No issues here.

My only minor complaint is that the mount is not very tight on the skinny part (22 mm) of my mtb handlebar. The only issue is it can sometimes get a bit stuck when removing the light from the mount and takes a bit of effort to slide it off the mount.

This has a more focussed beam than the hotrod. Degree light ports emit much less light than the hotrod does to 90 degree side. I like that cygolite keeps the daylight modes separate from the nightime modes.

The light is bright enough on the high setting for night riding on dark streets and paved trails. The brightness is enough to light the pavement ahead of me, and i don't fear not seeing a pothole. It's definately bright enough for drivers and pedestri...  Read More

Will be sending this back asap. Cygolite expects the customer to pay for shipping the unit back and forth and *might* repair it if they feel like it. The warranty is terrible.

The clamp mechanism doesn't fit the larger diameter section of my handle bars. The base is poorly designed. The thumbscrew loosens a long way, but not quite enough before it falls off. Still very slippery on a metal handlebar.

The real issues here are the light's brightness, and'sequence modes' of switch. Don't know about the battery life. It only blinks if i hold down the button, in other words, useless.
