Pros & Cons
Pros
The battery pack is protected in a nice padded rubbery neoprene type material with a velcro wrap. Both the lamp and battery pack are waterproof. The battery life out of the box is accurate to what's in the instructions.
My first impressions are outstanding. This light is awesome. The power it admits is wonderful.
Two mounting main mounting options with the rubber strap and the velcro mount. I am not in love with the cycle torch mounting, but i think it is appropriate for the unit and is not a deal breaker. Only complaint i have is the velcro straps on the plas... Read More
This pack can be placed in a backpack or pocket with ease. Battery is light enough to have on your helmet. However the battery pack is a little taxing on weight.
The beam is wide enough to illuminate the trail ahead of you, including any trees or obstacles next to it. The light spread is good (although i prefer the light spread of the shark 300/500 for commuting), but this is perfect for trail riding at night!... Read More
Cons
The battery pack is quite heavy and i found having it mounted to my helmet awkward to the point of not being able to use it. Comes with a usb plug to charge the back light but no port to plug it into.
Highlights
Quality
The light itself is very small but the build quality is beautiful and constructed of quality materials
However i have not been pleased with the mounting of my existing helmet light because it is a little kludgey
I have to admit after receiving the product i was very impressed with the quality of the cycle torch gt800
I am quite happy with the combination that i have on bike now
Price
It is also significantly lower in price
Packaging/appearance
As with their shark 500 it came with very nice packaging
The packaging is to die for this light is presented to you the first moment you take the film off the box
Competitiveness
I used to own a niterider and this light is very high quality for a fraction of the price
I now have three of these lights between my familys bikes
There is not a microusb integrated into the battery pack
And it has more flexibility of movement for adjusting its direction while riding than cygolite

I do not know why that is so perhaps it is something to do with the inefficiencies faced by the led when the output is low
