I set the shutdown type option to hibernate and the trigger to shut down when remaining battery life 5 mins or less pulled out the mains plug and waited

Clearly this would not have happened if i had left the ups to charge for a while but if i had been in a hurry to get back online this would have been a pain

The alternative is to set the maximum period allowed running under battery power before auto shutdown but that seems to make less use of the battery capacity and there seems to be no way to use the two settings together i would like to set it to run for 20 minutes provided that at least 5 minutes run time remains

Just to check that it worked i pulled out the mains plug from the ups and waited

However the battery charge as shown by the manufacturers software dropped rapidly to about 60 and was shown as recharging from that level when i put the plug back

It is my impression that to be sure of getting the battery fully charged it should be run down a little before the system is used in anger
