    The unit is completely silent while attached to working mains when it kicks in after a fault its fan spins up and the buzz is low but clearly audible if you keep it close e

    Under a desk you could probably disable the pretty loud alarm and just pay attention to the buzz appearing

    The lcd display turns itself off after a minute or so only the power button remains lit at all times

    The front display is useable but in the real world you wont want to keep clicking thought buttons to see for example current power draw

    Far easier to use the included software to place a gadget on your desktop with the power information and some software that gives at a glance information on all aspects of the unit including the number of times its taken over during a power cut in the last 4 weeks

    The software also lets you choose what happens when there is a power cut
