The button to turn on the light is at the end of the flash light and in a place where it can not be accidentally turned on causing the batteries to run out

Works great but metal clip broke after 1 week so only 4 stars

These can be powered by a single aa battery however it does move around as it is not a tight fit but it does work the description says it can work off a 14500 rechargeable battery and i have not purchased these so i am unsure if they workfit better than the aa
