An ailing poirot needs hastings' assistance to stop this, his most diabolical adversary. The story is narrated by hastings, his ever-faithful friend and co-sort. Hastings also appears in this story and does a good deal of soul searching throughout.

It's clear that either my taste has changed considerably over the decades, or there were problems with this book to begin with. Whoever shipped this book should be ashamed, it’s not that hard to tell if the book is wet! The print is too small.

Hastings does somehow manage to carry curtain thoughand is an affable likeable diligent character
