Pros

Very good, easy-to-use device. A mus have for newer cars with on board computers.

This little gadget saves all those memory settings while the big battery is not connected to the car. At the least, this saves you from having to reprogram everything when the battery is hooked up again. Need this to keep radio presets and other compu...  Read More

Cons

Relays start getting very noisy when receiving very little power from a tiny nine volt battery. Memory was erased once battery was disconnected. Invest in a more professional unit.

Quality

And i dont think its a good idea to disconnect the vehicles battery with the ignition on anyway

In other words if the power to the outlet goes off with the ignition turned off it is switched

Im not sure how this would work on an outlet that doesnt stay on with the engine off though

Like many of the reviews state in order for the voltage from the 9volt battery to get to the vehicles power system the memory saver must be connected to an unswitched 12volt cigarette lighter power outlet

In other words if the power to the outlet goes off with the ignition turned off it is switched

Therefore if the ignition is in the off position and you plug this cool little gadget into a switched 12v power outlet it will not work

I dont recommend leaving the ignition on when disconnecting the vehicles battery

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It would most likely kill the little 9volt battery quickly as other lights and sensors will energize when the ignition is on and the whole exercise becomes pointless

Switch off all the interior lights to keep the load low on the 9volt battery

Ended up getting battery at costco and parts to replace at auto zone
