So, I have this little crossbow. It was kind of an impulse buy. Saw it at a yard sale for practically nothing, so there it is. I don't really know a lot about these things. Shot it a couple times, didn't use any string wax.Apparently, if you don't wax your bowstrings they tend to break. I found that out the hard way. Whoops.So I ordered two of these. Just to have a spare. They came. No issues. The strings look exactly the same as the one I had before. The end caps are smaller than the ones that came with the bow. No idea whether that makes a difference, but I had to use a hammer to get them on, and it took two tries to get them actually straight. Definitely a snug fit.The string doesn't come pre-waxed. You'll need to wax it. I see other reviews where people claim they broke or unraveled. That's probably why. Wax your strings, people. It's important.Stringing this bow without help was a real challenge. I can string a longbow with my eyes closed, but this doesn't work the same. At all. Found a trick though. Took the seat off a stool to get to the metal frame, put the arms of the bow so each side hits against the frame and push down (hard) with one hand while stringing it with the other.Now I've only shot a few test shots. Can't be completely certain until I've really worn it out, but so far the string works perfectly. No complaints. I've checked it for any flaws or premature wear and I can't see any.
