    Of course these are not substitutes for soft pastels which are much easier to work with i only use the pencils for small fine detail areas or very small portraits

    The best option for sharpening is an xacto knife and then using sandpaper to get the point you want if you need a really thin point

    One pencil was damaged dont know how this happened because the tin they came in was not damaged

    When they arrived one pencil was duplicated leaving one pencil missing

    I took a photo of the trays indicating the problem and emailed the seller thru amazon
