Sound blaster x-fi is a great gaming device. Acm eliminates the need to use the case front panel audio jacks. Sound blaster command software is good.



Cons

There's a constant whining sound that never seems to go away. Its quite noticeable and annoying. At least it works reliably.

The card is out of sock now and it will be 3 weeks before they can send out another one. Moving to different pci-e ports doesn't seem to address the issue. The rgb light on the sound card will be red instead of multi color.

The card cost almost as much as my motherboard. The power for the included led strips is supplied by a molex connector and all the wiring makes for a sloppy look.

The sound blaster command software must be running and you have to open this lumbering half-screen app just to click a little toggle. I plug my headphones into the headphone jack, and literally nothing happens. Turns out the have skimped on their lice...  Read More

L and r channel only buzzes - no sound. The aux outputs have a constant hissing or whine. It also sometimes ignores my volume adjustments - which also provokes the buzzing because it doesn't seem to know what to do.

    It took me three hours of near panic that i would have to go weeks through a replacement process only to find out through some fairly old forums posts that sound blaster cant put out an update to save their lives

    I considered returning it at this point but windows 11 can be updated to for free so i thought id clean install that os and try again
