I thought the mahl stick would be better as its so flexible with where it can be placed but it was cumbersome

You do have to hold it with one hand while drawing with the other so if for some reason you cant use one of your hands this is useless

I have constant tremors so its very difficult for me to draw without resting my palm or wrist on the paper my charcoal drawings would get smudged so badly that the values would all gradually become midtones
