I had a similar problem and im very new to using these things but i figured it out and wanted to review so others can get theirs to work and avoid giving these undeserved 1 star reviews

There wasnt enough material to hold the two pieces of the cap far enough apart for the button clasp to go deep enough to secure

I used them for a canvas dog pen and they do snap but some are not very tightly snapped

Did try one sample and only complaint would be the springs that hold it closed are a bit weak so it pops open fairly easily
