The added bonus is that you can use water to spread them around which gives quite a painterly artwork

I really really wanted these oil pastels for quite a while but they are very difficult to get hold of in the uk at a reasonable price

One solution ive found is to seal it with a fixative which provides a smooth surface but will not work if the oil pastel layer is too thick

The other thing you can try is seal it with clear gesso which works far better than the fixative solution but it may be difficult to move the pen smoothly if the gesso is too gritty
