Since the sensor is on the top if you lay the light on its side you wont be able to control it

For many people i suspect this is not an issue as these are decorative lights that you will probably set ahead of time with the controller and then put them where you want them during the event but i wanted to use them as signal lights to use the colors to tell children when to come on stage for a play and since i didnt have a direct line of sight to the device in the next room where the children were coming from i couldnt trigger it and they were no good for that purpose
