The first time i had to clean it was about 6 months into the ownership and i just vacuumed it with a vacuum cleaner to get some of the dust out of the filter but the second time i had a harder time getting the dust out from the filter and it was already all black and full of pet hair human hair blocking up the little panels in the filter so i figured it would be better to replace it already because the vacuum couldnt pick up all the junk in the panels and it looked pretty dirty
