I can’t speak for day hikes or regular camping but i’ll say that the hat is a little big for a multi day backpacking trip

One other note the detachable cover for the cap portion of the hat is probably destined to be lost unless i can establish a habit of leaving two of its snaps connected toward the back of the hat
