I shined up my pieces with soft microfiber cloth and left the residue on my jewelry without the usual steps of soap rinse and dry to remove it to test the products claims of the residue being protective

Leaving the residue on definitely caused my rose gold has copper alloy in it and silver pieces to tarnish again within the week
