    I did find that if you are getting an absurdly low reading to let it sit for a bit or warm up your finger and the inside of the device as a cold finger does not read correctly i usually just rub my shirt over my finger for a little bit and then let it sit for a minute before looking at the reading to let where my finger is sitting warm up as well
