I ran water from the faucet on it for a good while and even tried to wring water into the fabric and it just rolled off

It has a hood with a light elastic band to keep it snug on your head and it can be rolled up and held underneath a collar via velcro

Overall i think this is an excellent light weight rain jacket that can be worn by men or women
