I bought this as a gift and is the perfect blanket to keep in your car take on a picnic to the beach with little kids

This is great for picnics and in general for laying on the grass in a park the under layer is good at keeping the moisture from passing through but the seems where the handles and strap were stitched allow the water through from any wet grass
