When closed properly one time i didnt screw it shut all the way and thought my bottle leaked it didnt it was my fault its absolutely leak proof in my experience

You have to actively and strongly suck to get water out but it would leak around the lid rim after enough pressure was pulled out of it

Almost immediately the small thin rubber wrapper came unattached and disappeared
