Pros & Cons
Pros
The cloth filter works, it breaths while percolating and the coffee tastes great! This ends up being cheaper then purchasing paper filters as well. A little richer with almost the same clarity as the paper method. It has the clarity of pour over with ... Read More
Awesome product. Works like a charm. These are fantastic. I hope they last! These are awesome.
Easy to clean, easy to use, and don't affect the taste of my coffee. More importantly the flavor is just as intense. The coffee tastes great as was mentioned in other reviews.
The coffee sock fits well in my chemex brewer. The stiffness goes away pretty quickly. Rinsing and drying out the coffee sock after use is easy.
Comes with two so you can alternate every day. Great weekend coffee filter.
Cons
If you're a not a discerning coffee drinker, you'd have an automatic drip or keurig and not a chemex. It's not that easy to completely empty the grounds.
Highlights
Quality
We are very happy with this product
I was so pleased with the pourover coffee i made
I wasnt super pleased with the chemex filters anyway i felt like they sagged and the flow slowed to a near stop after they got wet
This means less time in contact with the grounds and a weaker brew all around
Price
My chemex is an 8 cupper and they fit great
Packaging/appearance
Rinsed one out very well and made a 6 cup pot of coffee in the chemex …unbelievable
They are also stiff enough that for the first few weeks i didnt need to put a straw or something in as a vent for the grounds a... Read More
The water drains through the coffee quicker than paper and it is easy to clean by rinsing and then just drape over the chemex carafe to dry
4 turn the filter inside out over the sink
Competitiveness
The coffeesock checked all the boxes reusable chemical free far as i know organic cotton and cheaper than chemex filter paper
Works fine however it is more porous than the paper chemex filters so it drains faster
I have a chemex 8 cup and originally purchased a reusable metal filter
Covid supply chain caused chemex filters to get too pricey and forced me to consider this alternative

They are also stiff enough that for the first few weeks i didnt need to put a straw or something in as a vent for the grounds and filter not to seal against the pourover glass

These come off when rinsing but then the grounds end up in the sink disposal or trap

The coffeesock catches any grounds if the paper rips but generally i can just pop out the paper and pop it into the compost
