That rubbery exterior of gorilla tape combined with extreme pull from the magnets makes prevents the slippage people seem to be complaining about in the other reviews

When used to secure something with a nice finish a piece of painters tape or a single wrap of a thin cloth or film will help to protect the finish of the device you are intending to hang from the magnet

Powerful mags bought them to attach a back up camera to a trailer but it turned out to be junk
