Buy this with confidence. This is awesome! Very useful in a call center.

It's literally a noxious fume that is out-gassing from the pad. It took at least a week to dissipate to a tolerable level. The problem is that the pad stinks to plastic.
thin and wavy out of the box, doesn't straighten up. I recommend a different mouse pad as it’s unpleasing and noticeable.
Nonslip bottom starts to crumble. Something about the print causes random erratic mouse movements. Just pay more for a better desk mat/mousepad.

Using a washer to clean it would make the back of the mouse mat slowly degrade especially if you used any heat
