I am concerned the bag says do not open until ready for use as i dont know if this is a caution against loosing them or a warning they will loose their elasticity if exsposed to oxygen over time

I tried some from a walmart vendor which were identical in appearance but the plastic they used to make them was far too brittle and none in a pack of 100 were usable and each one snapped before ever reaching a lock
