Pros & Cons
Pros
strong but not bitter. In comparison other cheaper brands taste like hay. great flavor and full bodied. hints of fruits flowers herbs.
The tin locks in the freshness, and yet is easy to open and reclose. The 4oz version is in a tin, which makes it reusable for future refills.
This tea is mellow, dark and a wonderful morning substitute for someone who normally drinks black coffee. There is no strange aftertaste, which to me, black tea seems to be very good at. Fantastic loose leaf black tea with an unbeatable price.
I suspect it’s easily favorable enough to stand up to milk and sugar (ugh). No need for sugar.
Cons
It tastes like lightly flavored hot water, not at all like a rich english breakfast tea. Would not recommend at all. It recommends 1.
Highlights
Quality
While made in china the quality is good
The quality is great it brews a consistent cup of tea each time
While it did have a quality taste it was blander and required larger amounts of tea and longer steep time
Packaging/appearance
I love the loose leaf and like the packaging as well
Packaging keeps the tea fresh and delivery was very prompt
Not sure if they are lowering the amount due to the cost of the ingredients or if it was a packaging mistake
Competitiveness
A 1 lb bag has lasted me a loooong time
Product packaging very clean like other tiesta products i have received
Before i go into the review for the royal breakfast tea i have a bone to pick with tiesta tea
I ordered these in may of 2018 and both have a sellby date of august 2019

I view this as a bad idea since it’s trivial to simply open the tin if you’re worried about contents level

Tea degrades with light and in some cases light can cause a spawning of things you definitely do not wish in your tea

I strongly suggest you keep these tins only in a closed cabinet where it’s usually dark rather than on an open shelf where the light will degrade the tea

I rate is as fruity rather than the malty assams i’m used to
