    Using the hdmi obv for video and the usb connections on the cables for the mouse and audio not using the audio and mic jacks on the leads

    The windows machine goes through a usb 3 docking station and then to the kvm the debian is a direct connect

    The front has four pushbuttons one for each port and the earphone and microphone sockets and a single usb2 port which is also switched with the kvm

    The only caveat is that you need to plug an actual mouse and an actual keyboard or the wireless usb dongles for them into the usb sockets on the kvm you cant plug in a switch with the keyboard and mouse connected i originally plugged in the two dongles in my existing switch and they didnt work

    Im taking analogue audio out of the pcs and using the switch front panel socket to feed my speakers so have not investigated hdmi audio

    Annoyingly it beeps really loud each time you switch inputs
