It gives a real modern twist to greek myths and shows them from the point of view of one of the least mentioned characters in the myths it is interesting that the main character is female and not the typical classical beauty either

She is well written well developed and someone you can identify with entirely even though some of her actions and methods are not what you would do personally

We see circe develop her personality and wrestle with her setbacks so that we believe in her as a woman who has triumphed through adversity even though we know this is a mythical and fanciful description of a flawed goddess in a mythical world

The novel was funny thought provoking and a real page turner

Despite a slow start i enjoyed this read felt the story subsequently progressed at a good pace like lots of little stories rolled into one all tied up at the end
