Pros & Cons
Pros
The mojo is a portable dac and headphone amplifier. It outperforms my previous bel canto dac 3 despite being tiny and battery powered. Overall, this is a great dac.
This blows it away easily and totally justifies the price difference. It also drives my friend's infamous hifi man he-6's without any trouble.
Music is crisp and clean with no discernable distortion whatsoever. The music is exciting and impactful, but not to the point where control and precision is lost.
It performs very well for me in a variety of tests. Battery life is decent, but i keep it plugged in when hooked into my stereo. Good battery charge length and long battery life.
Cons
It only works plugged in2. It runs for a period of time then just cuts out for no apparent reason. It takes multiple tries to get it to restart.
Contacting customer support was even worse. Chord just needs to include the right one and not have the user waste time on pouring through forums.
The device reflects a rather odd user interface. The fpga chip used for the decoding is amazing but the rest of the unit is poorly engineered. Really unacceptable from an fcc or esa perspective.
Highlights
Quality
The sound quality is super brings out a lot of detail
The quality sound that you will get from this odd shaped dac is outstanding
I lower the quality when im bike riding to save data
Ones with good reviews have quality issues i can assure you that the bad reviews you can see online for this product are all fake
Price
This blows it away easily and totally justifies the price difference
To me it gives an incredible sound for such a small footprint and cost
Packaging/appearance
Id planned to use it in my stereo system to replace the dac in the emotiva pt100 that is part of my setup
Now i also have the audioquest dragonfly cobalt and it beats it hands down
Competitiveness
Blows away all the competition at this price point of 479 currently
The lightup marbles are a cool design
I finally gave up because i really needed a highquality dac that was not like carrying half a brick around
In that effort i tried an aqdfred an aqdfcobalt an ifi nano a fiio q5s
