If you do any electronics soldering by hand your soldering tip will eventually get gunked up by old solder and flux residue

One can could last a year in a busy shop where multiple users have to share a soldering station and someone always forgets to shut off the soldering iron which ends up ruining the tip

If you have not either it is a very hard metal looking liquid

When you put your hot soldering iron in it it starts to melt like butter almost but only around the tip
