Quality
The feed tray is large enough that you put a secondary meat on the tray to mix in with the primary meat for grinding.
It is made from quality metal making it very sturdy and a joy to use.
We are unhappy with the purchase and never used the item.
The parts are of good quality and perform very well.
Competitiveness
For a few more dollars than the kitchenaid brand, this one (all metal) appears much more sturdy.
Saved me a lot of $$ from buying a freestanding model.

I also tried to use the chef's choice sausage stuffing attachment once the meat was ground.

Not nearly as happy with this grinder as a sausage stuffer.

The internal clearances on the auger are too large and you really have to force the sausage through.

The kitchen aid version has issues at the seals (meat can back out of the plastic crown), this one does not.

Only four stars because it is not dishwasher safe.

Toss the piece of crap plastic stuffer on the top it doesn't work well at all.
