I thought this would be great to save space on the shelf and keep tablets mp3 and other electronics neat and cleaned up well as you can see in the picture of the product it shows these things but without a case i should have caught that as we have a 6 year old that uses all the electronics we have ours in cases and there fore do not fit properly into the slots but i put it up against the wall on the shelf and it still holds them ok so if you keep cases on your tablets phones and things this will not hold as shown and you would be better off with a usb power strip it does have 4 ports for usb plug and the cord is about 3 foot long the ports do not say what they put out and if they are smart ports or not and no directions came with the product to say either i am assuming that they are smart ports

Last but not the least also the charging station keeps the devices organized because the divider groove
