Pros
The sti magnum fits perfectly. Works with my * solo 2, 3 and 4. Works like a champ.
The friction pivot is useful for getting the final angle right. Adjustment knob actually has locking positions to help keep it set a where you like it. Only complaint is that the sides that the tightening bolt go through, will crack if overtightened.
This aftermarket unit has a super-strong suction cup. More suction power than a hoover vacuum.
This is installed on 2011 audi a5 cabriolet. My only complaint is it rattles a bit loudly. After installing and adjusting, i have to say this is the best after market suction mount i've purchased, and i have a few in use.
Cons
The only thing i can do with it is slide it in maybe half an inch before it doesn't want to budge anymore. Its very loose and keeps slipping off.

I was using the flat type that basically sticks on top of the dash but with the vehicles i own none really have a flat enough surface to securely hold my detectors
