    My brand new furnace overtemperature sensor burned out due to improper settings when it was installed

    I finally dug into the service manual for the new furnace and learned how to test the sensor and that when it was safe to run it was closed when unsafe too hot for the burner assembly it would open so i put a switch across it and used this infrared thermometer to measure the temperature inside the closest heat duct about 5 feet from the furnace and when it got within 20 degrees of the trigger temp i opened the furnace switch triggering the furnace to shut off burners and cool down and when low enough turn them on again same thing the sensor did

    Boiling water it reads 109c which we know it should be 100c
